Daniel Zelem, Jr.

Daniel Zelem is a Senior Advisor at OMERS, where he provides technology advisory services to OMERS and its portfolio of companies. His responsibilities encompass a wide range of topics, including due diligence, technology and risk assessments, vendor assessments and referrals, value creation, and mentoring and coaching of portfolio companies’ CxO’s. Zelem is also a Senior Advisor at Turning Rock Partners, where he supports deal teams by performing technology due diligence on proposed investments.

Before joining OMERS and Turning Rock Partners, Zelem served in key technology leadership roles at various organizations.

He was the CIO of Mercy College, and prior to that, the CTO of Johnson & Johnson (J&J). Preceding his role at J&J, Zelem served as SVP and Chief of Business Technology at Medco Health Solutions, Inc., where he was responsible for IT strategy and the ongoing operations of the company’s extensive technology assets. During his nearly 20-year career with Medco, Zelem played a critical role in implementing transformative strategies, which provided a competitive advantage to Medco and its clients. These strategies included the development of an industry-leading enterprise information warehouse platform, the launch of medco.com – the world’s largest online pharmacy, and the creation of the Enterprise Image Service platform that enabled Medco’s nationwide network of pharmacies to electronically process millions of mail-order prescriptions annually. Zelem also contributed to Medco’s enterprise IT Strategy and the modernization of IT assets.

In addition to his role at OMERS and Turning Rock Partners, Zelem is a Senior Advisor at McKinsey and Company, where he offers his expertise in technology advisory services.
