Joseph Vajda

Joseph Vajda is a Retired IT Executive at GE. Prior to GE, he was the CISO at DPD Hungary Kft. In the past he was an IT executive for ALTEO Group and the CIO of Tungsram Group based in Budapest, Hungary. Vajda has substantial experience designing, leading, and implementing a broad range of corporate growth and transformation initiatives to drive growth, performance, profitability, and improve customer interaction. He has diverse experience in both high-growth and turnaround environments with multiple large matrix-based international organizations as well as integration of multi-billion dollar acquisitions and mergers.
Vajda started his career with General Electric Company driving automation and IT initiatives in North America. His diverse cultural background provided an excellent foundation to lead global technology teams. Since 1999, he has held various senior executive roles (including CIO, Digital) focusing on Digitization, Simplification and IoT operations, with responsibilities in Asia, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australia, North America and South America.
For the last 6 years, Vajda has focused on marrying computer-programmed automation with digital technologies such as analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT). Since its inception, Industry 4.0 has spread beyond the factory walls to encompass a broader digital transformation that spans processes, functions, and industries. With his international background, Vajda advises companies with technology-driven transformation to help change the way many organizations make sense of information and act upon it to make decisions that could impact operations, deliver greater customer value, and improve performance.
Vajda holds a B.S. in Computer and Information Science from Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio; an M.B.A. from Tilburg University in the Netherlands; and a Master of International Management from Krannert Graduate School of Management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
