Ken Piddington
Ken Piddington is currently serving as the VP & CIO of U.S. Silica Company, where he applies his extensive experience in technology and business operations to drive profitable business growth and transformation.
In addition to this role, Ken holds the position of Faculty Member at IANS, where he imparts his knowledge and expertise to future leaders in the field. He also serves as the President, CIO, and Advisor at Compass42, LLC, further showcasing his leadership and advisory roles in the industry.
Prior to this, Ken was the CIO of SGR Energy, Inc., where he played a pivotal role in defining and executing the company’s business technology strategy and contributed to the company’s M&A strategy team. Ken’s career is marked by a legacy of success in setting strategic visions, scaling organizations, and driving execution for high-performing businesses. He is also recognized as an award-winning thought leader and published author, highly regarded for his industry contributions, and passionate about talent development and customer satisfaction.
Piddington is the former CIO at Global Partners LP, a Fortune 500 midstream logistics and energy products marketing company, where he was responsible for leading, developing and implementing the business technology strategy during four years of unprecedented growth where the company revenues grew from $6 billion to $20 billion. This included the successful integration of multiple acquisitions and the implementation of supply chain technologies necessary to support dramatic geographic and line of business expansion.
Piddington is the President of the Advisory Board for the Energy Institute High School, chairs the Technology Committee for Stages Repertory Theatre, and is a board member at HITS Theatre. Ken is also an Advisory Board member for the CIO Executive Council and a mentor in the Pathways program.
He is recognized as an industry thought leader, is a regular speaker at business and association conferences, and has been featured in multiple media publications. He has been named a Computerworld Premier 100 Technology leader, is a CIO100 award winner, and has twice been recognized as an InformationWeek 500 Top Technology Innovator.
Piddington holds a B.S. in Management from Northeastern University and attended Graceland College where he played football and baseball. Today, Ken makes Houston, Texas his home.
