Richard Entrup

Richard Entrup is the Managing Director and Head of Emerging Solutions – Enterprise Innovation at KPMG US, where he previously held the position of Senior Advisor for Enterprise Innovation. He is an esteemed startup advisor and investor, known for his global technology leadership.

Throughout his career, Mr. Entrup has taken the helm of technology, innovation, and digital transformation initiatives at renowned global brands such as Verizon, Christie’s, Disney/ABC, Time Warner, The Museum of Modern Art, Viacom, and Tiffany & Company. He has also served as a Chief Information Officer (CIO) at several healthcare companies and a major international law firm, demonstrating a track record of successfully aligning technology investments with strategic goals.

In his most recent role as Managing Director for 5G & Edge Innovation at Verizon Business Group, Mr. Entrup focused on helping enterprise clients harness the full potential of 5G, edge computing, and emerging technologies to drive digital transformation and innovation.

Previously, as the Global Chief Information Officer and Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at Christie’s, he led a significant digital transformation program, marked by pioneering achievements in the art and technology space. Notable milestones included the first blockchain-based auction, an augmented reality virtual hanging app, predictive analytics, and computer vision applications using artificial intelligence and machine learning. Additionally, he introduced innovations such as online mobile bidding during live auctions. In 2018, Mr. Entrup played a pivotal role in launching the inaugural Christie’s Art & Tech Conference, with a focus on blockchain and the introduction of NFTs to the traditional art world.

Mr. Entrup extends his expertise as a mentor to students in the Executive Masters in Technology Management Program at Columbia University. He is also a Startup Mentor for leAD Sports Startup Accelerator and provides guidance to the venture capital community as a CIO Advisory Board member for Greylock Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, the Mayfield Fund, and HMG Strategy. In addition, he holds strategic advisory roles at House of First, an NFT platform for artists; ClubNFT, a backup and search tool for NFT collectors; Edge Video, an AI video player; and InfoSec Global, a pioneer in cryptographic agility management solutions.
