Emmanuel David

Emmanuel David is a Member of the Board of Directors at Aster DM Healthcare, one of the largest private healthcare service providers operating in the GCC and India. His career spans across various sectors, including the automobile, hospitality, infrastructure, financial services, and oil & gas industries. He has experience working in family-owned entities, joint ventures, and multinational corporations, covering the entire organizational life cycle from start-up to growth, downsizing, and turnaround. With over three decades of real-life experience, he has gained valuable insights into the relationships between culture, strategy, and decision-making.

Emmanuel David served as the Director of Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC), the learning arm of the Tata Group’s Human Resources. During his tenure, he introduced changes in the pedagogy to facilitate informal and unconventional learning and delivered well-received sessions on topics like Understanding Self, Conflict Management, Negotiation, and Ethics.

He received the “British Gas Chairman’s Safety Award” for his leadership in relief and rehabilitation efforts during the Surat Floods in 2006. His role in this crisis became a case study at IIM Ahmedabad, highlighting the leadership role of HR during times of crises. He has successfully resolved legacy industrial disputes in various companies and elevated employer-employee relations in greenfield ventures.

Emmanuel David is a certified Belbin Team Role Facilitator from the UK and an Advanced Hogan Coach from the USA. He is an alumnus of XLRI and has completed an Advanced Management Program on Strategic Profitability Management from AIMA. In addition to his corporate involvement, he is dedicated to community activities, serving on the boards of St. Peter’s High School in Panchgani and Under the Mango Tree (UTMT), a social enterprise promoting beekeeping to enhance the livelihoods of marginal farmers in India.

Emmanuel David is also a versatile creative individual, being an avid blogger, writer, photographer, and experimental chef.
