Fola Ogunsiakan

Fola Ogunsiakan is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in various management, finance, technology, operations, and strategy roles, focusing on early-stage companies and startups. He is the CEO and Managing Director of Cedar Capital, an operating investment and advisory firm that specializes in real estate and early-stage technology businesses across sub-Saharan Africa. In addition to his role at Cedar Capital, Fola Ogunsiakan has taken on several new positions in recent years. These roles include Director and Founder at RESE, a PropTech subsidiary of Wondo Technologies, where he has been serving since January 2022, and Group CEO and Co-Founder at Wondo Technologies [Holding Company], a position he has held since June 2018. Furthermore, he serves as the Investment Committee Chairman (AIPF I & II) at Africa Plus Partners Limited since April 2017, and as a Non-Executive Director at CREDIT DIRECT LIMITED since April 2017. Fola Ogunsiakan’s multifaceted background and his active involvement in various ventures make him a valuable contributor to the business landscape in sub-Saharan Africa and beyond.

Prior to founding Cedar Capital, Ogunsiakan was a Partner and Co-founder of Constant Capital, a West Africa based Financial Advisory and Investment firm. Ogunsiakan’s career spans over two decades, covering general management, finance, technology, operations and strategy roles with a particular focus on early-stage companies and start-ups. His experience spans over two decades with companies such as McKinsey & Co., Motorola, Accelon, Cummins, and Robertson Stephens & Co, which when coupled with his entrepreneurial activities has developed him into a well-rounded professional that is able to manage businesses through their full cycles, from inception to steady-state operations and eventually, financial exits.
Prior to Constant Capital, Ogunsiakan worked at Motorola Networks where as Head of Business Operations & Business Development for Sub-Saharan Africa, he oversaw and helped manage transaction and strategic activities for Motorola Networks Division’s business development portfolio. During this period, he also served as a member of Motorola’s Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Senior Leaders Strategic Growth committee.
As a principal of a South Africa based venture management group, Africa Venture Partners, Ogunsiakan started up and managed Accelon Nigeria – now Internet Solutions (IS) West Africa – a premier provider of data telecommunications solutions, which earned the Nigerian Telecoms Award for Best ISP of the Year in 2006. Upon exiting Accelon, Ogunsiakan served as Program Manager and Strategy Advisor on the 2006/2007 billion dollar acquisition of Nigeria’s national telecommunications operator – NITEL.
Prior to moving to Nigeria, Ogunsiakan was a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. in Johannesburg, South Africa where he worked on multi-country engagements in the areas of strategy, capital productivity, process development, operational improvement, and restructuring, across various industries including Media & Telecommunications, Manufacturing, and Oil and Gas, across Africa.
Prior to earning his M.B.A., Ogunsiakan served as Director of IT; Telecommunications at a distribution subsidiary of Cummins Engine Company where he established and managed the long-term technology strategy for the company’s Southern California and Mexico locations, as well as the company’s integration with the global Cummins sales and product networks.
Ogunsiakan earned his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School, and his B.S. Arch from Obafemi Awolowo University (University of Ife).
Fola also serves on the board of various companies and associations.
