Gregor Purdy

Gregor Purdy serves as the Executive Director of Engineering at MGM Resorts International. He is also notable for co-founding Pro.com and holding the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) there. Furthermore, he serves as a strategic advisor for Doxxa.

Before embarking on his journey with Pro.com, Mr. Purdy made significant contributions at Apple, where he built and led two engineering teams. His work included re-engineering Content Management and Product Management for the Online Store. Notably, Gregor Purdy played a crucial role in leading the implementation of the initial version of the Apple Store iOS app, which, at its launch, became the fastest app to reach a million downloads. He is recognized for presenting twice at WWDC, with one session covering the construction of hybrid native-web apps and another focusing on architecting for server-driven user experiences in apps. His latter talk garnered significant attention, drawing a standing-room-only crowd and necessitating a repeat session for overflow.

In the early 2000s, Gregor Purdy was responsible for overseeing Amazon.com engineering efforts for large accounts, including the pioneering work with Target.com, Amazon’s first billion-dollar partner on its platform. His leadership was instrumental in directing a team of nearly 50 individuals in executing a substantial re-engineering initiative to transition Target.com to Amazon’s new platform. Additionally, Mr. Purdy conducted technical due diligence assessments for potential acquisitions and evaluated the feasibility of implementing enterprise customer solutions.

Before his role at Amazon, Gregor Purdy worked as a consultant in the field of Data Warehousing. He provided his expertise to Fortune 50 clients, including Kroger, Nationwide Insurance, Walgreens, and Home Depot. Furthermore, he conducted high-profile research on software and Internet patent prior art.

Mr. Purdy is also an accomplished author, having written several books for O’Reilly Media. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan. His extensive career journey and accomplishments reflect a rich background in technology, engineering, and leadership.
