Mary Sobiechowski

Mary Sobiechowski is a Partner, Interim CIO & Enterprise Technology Strategist in the New York practice of Fortium Partners.

Sobiechowski brings more than 20 years of technology leadership experience as a CIO and global IT transformation leader who drives organic growth and builds shareholder value through the creative use of technology resources. She is an enthusiastic technology pacesetter and transformation pioneer who boldly defines the strategic direction of product, process, and innovation. Sobiechowski is recognized as one of the top 100 social CIOs on Huffington Post’s Tech blog for her widespread social media influence and collaboration.

Prior to joining Fortium, Sobiechowski was the CIO of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), where she oversaw a $7 million annual budget for a team of 29 IT staff who supported 880 people in 9 diverse locations, plus over 100 remote staff, including a hospital and a poison control center. Within months of joining the ASPCA, Sobiechowski had identified opportunities to improve the business by adopting better platforms for donor and grant programs, creating new workflows, reducing infrastructure costs, improving cybersecurity, training team members on analyzing data from legacy systems and serving as executive sponsor for the corporate Workday implementation.

Before the ASPCA, Sobiechowski served for 15 years in technology leadership roles for various companies owned by WPP, one of the largest holding companies of global advertising, marketing, and media companies. She was the first CIO of Kantar Health, a global leader in research and brand equity for the healthcare industry, where she helped guide the technology transformation of the merger of five global companies into a single $250 million global consultancy and market insights organization. She was also the CIO and CTO for Sudler & Hennessey, the healthcare communications division of Y&R Brands, where she had enterprise responsibility for a $2.2 million global budget for 1,200 people in 45 offices across 20 countries. She was appointed lead of the WPP Creative Technology Special Interest group, a forum of over 100 innovators collaborating to create best practices and synergies for the business.

Earlier in her career, Sobiechowski served in consulting roles with clients including Miramax Film Corp., Disney, Talk Media, Ann Taylor, Estee Lauder Inc. and various small and medium-sized businesses. She often speaks at CIO events and mentors at Columbia University’s Masters in IT program. She was also recognized as an HPE Matter “Woman IT Leader to Watch” in 2015.

Sobiechowski holds a B.F.A. with distinction from Wayne State University. She is a member of the Society of Information Management (SIM) New York Metro and New Jersey chapters. In her spare time, she is an avid cyclist and yoga instructor.
