Sara Andrews

Sara Andrews is the Global Chief Information Security Officer at Experian. She is also a Member of the Board of Directors at Marvell Technology and an active member of the Aspen Institute Cybersecurity Group. Additionally, She serves as a Corporate Board Member and Director at Mandiant.
In her previous roles, Sara Andrews served as PepsiCo’s Senior Vice President and Global Chief Information Security Officer. Sara Andrews is responsible for developing the risk-based information security strategy for PepsiCo and implementing this across the enterprise. She is the company’s top information security executive, responsible for safeguarding networks and data across the $66 billion food and beverage powerhouse, including all its business units and brands globally. Her accountabilities include developing a best-in-class security risk mitigation blueprint; creating a role-based user access management and identity management deployment; refreshing security policy for the enterprise globally; strengthening overall infrastructure security; and developing and implementing forward-looking security architecture.
Prior to PepsiCo, Ms. Andrews was Verizon’s Chief Network Security Officer (CNSO). In this role, she led several organizations responsible for the security of all Verizon wireline networks serving Verizon’s residential, small business and enterprise customers. She was responsible for defining Verizon Wireline Network’s security strategy and risk tolerance for safeguarding company and customer data, intellectual and network assets, and providing functional direction and control of Verizon’s Wireline Network Security Program. Before serving as the CNSO for Verizon, Ms. Andrews was the CISO for Verizon Business, a unit of Verizon focusing on enterprise customers. In this role, she was responsible for the security of all Verizon Business data and for ensuring the integrity of the Verizon Business network and information systems.
Under her direction, Verizon received two National Information Security Leadership Awards, one for the company’s effective defense against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, and a second for the best achievement by an Internet service provider in fighting damage from network worm attacks.
Ms. Andrews’s professional achievements include:
•Recipient of the Evanta 2016 Breakaway Leader Award honoring CISOs and senior security executives who demonstrate exceptional leadership
•Being invited to testify at the “Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset: Comprehensive Legislation for the 21st Century” hearing before the U.S. Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
•Selected as a finalist for the Executive Women’s Forum for Information Security, Risk Management and Privacy’s “Women of Influence” Awards
•Selected as one of 20 “Security Superstars” by Information Security magazine and featured on the cover and in the lead story
•Recognized by Verizon with the “Who Inspires You” award as one of 20 leaders who demonstrated the highest standards of personal integrity, character and professionalism
•Member of the CISO Coalition National Leadership Board
Ms. Andrews holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from Auburn University and an M.B.A. from Brenau University.
