Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS) Deploys Dr. Langer’s Research for Social Good
WOS partners with leading companies and academic institutions and connects them with skilled talent from Veteran and Vulnerable Populations.
Since 2005, Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS) has been redefining workforce development by connecting underserved communities and military veterans with leading companies across the country.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, WOS creates tailored workforce solutions that help individuals thrive and organizations grow. Whether it’s through managed services, AI implementation support, or career-launching training programs, the approach is people-first, purpose-driven, and proven to deliver.
What Sets Us Apart?

- Community-Centered Talent: We source from where it matters most – local neighborhoods, veterans, and underrepresented groups.
- Research-Driven Results: Our model is based on academic research conducted by Dr. Langer, and anchored in measurable workplace readiness.
With 7,500+ individuals served and 75+ corporate partnerships, including Johnson & Johnson, Merck, and ADP, WOS delivers a more prepared, professional, and productive workforce every day.
The Northeastern University Co-op Program
In collaboration with Northeastern University, WOS has extended its proven formula to optimize the transition from college student to professional employee at partner companies:
- Talent Acquisition: Recruit and onboard students from local institutions through a streamlined, supported model.
- Mentorship & Program Management: Each student receives ongoing mentorship, while a WOS Client Service Manager ensures alignment between co-op expectations and outcomes.
- Training Coordination: WOS coordinates with Northeastern University to align technical training with your organization’s needs before placement begins.
- Workforce Readiness & Support: Participants are prepared professionally with interpersonal skills training and real-time support throughout the engagement.
- Scalable Engagement Models: Options for short-term co-op roles, long-term extensions, or full-time employment conversion.
This “Try before you hire” model, where after an 8-12 month internship, companies can hire students at no additional cost, means that employers reduce recruiting expenses, hire only the best and most compatible employees, and reduce churn over the near and long terms. Truly a win-win.
