Before joining Nutanix, Mr. Karnik served as Managing Director at Credit Suisse, where he led infrastructure services, platform engineering, and architecture within a centralized global shared service model. He drove a multi-year digital transformation initiative focused on accelerating business value and modernizing the firm’s risk control framework. Prior to that, he was Vice President at Johnson & Johnson, overseeing global hosting and data platform services across all business lines. In that role, he designed and implemented an enterprise-wide hybrid multi-cloud and data strategy, delivering a hybrid AI/ML platform, multi-region S/4 HANA deployment, and Software Defined Data Center and edge modernization initiatives for R&D labs, manufacturing, and warehousing operations.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Karnik spent over 21 years at Express Scripts/Medco, rising from a developer to a senior technology leader managing large global teams. He played a pivotal role in driving digital transformation programs, including the $26 billion merger between Medco and Express Scripts Specialty Pharmacy business.

Throughout his career, Mr. Karnik has built a reputation for transforming infrastructure engineering and operations functions into agile, innovation-driven organizations, improving developer and data scientist experiences while maintaining a strong focus on business outcomes. His leadership approach blends enterprise-level strategy with a startup mindset. In addition to his role at Nutanix, he advises EsperHealth, a healthcare AI startup, and continues to serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, engineers, and architects - aligning strategy, execution, and innovation to deliver measurable business value.
